Due to the release of the Miramax English dub version of Princess Mononoke , retrospectives of the works of Studio Ghibli have been organized by film festivals, museums, and theaters throughout North America and Europe. Also, Miramax arranged for several festival showings of the Princess Mononoke dub before the October 1999 premiere. Apply for GIFFF Gцteborg International Film Festival Fund operate in three areas. We support development of projects, we support post production and distribution. But we also involve ourselves in workshops and training initiatives and we can also provide technical equipment - all directed to the really underprivileged which can hopefully help the growing of locally based film industry. Cannes International Film Festival 2007 - Telegraph

Romanian director Cristian Mungiu has won Cannes' top prize, the Palme d'Or, for 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days , a film about illegal abortion. The award was presented to him by US actress Jane Fonda, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other winners included Japanese director Naomi Kawase's The Mourning Forest, which took the Grand Prix and Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park , which picked up the special Cannes 60th anniversary prize. The Jury Prize was shared by Iranian animation Persepolis and Mexican director Carlos Reygadas's Stellet Licht . Russian actor Konstantin Lavronenko won Best Actor for his role in The Banishment , while South Korea's Jeon Do-yeon won Best Actress for Secret Sunshine. Best Director went to Julian Schnabel for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. NEWS
